Recipe: Hale Caesar Salad Dressing

Whey protein powder adds a protein punch to this creamy salad dressing and vegetable dip.

  • 1 cup reduced fat mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup unflavored whey protein powder
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp anchovy paste (optional)

Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

    I thought low fat foods had been totally discredited. Low fat usually meaning high sugar and vice versa.
    I thought we’d come full circle and that research has shown that real butter, real yogurt, real milk etc etc are way better for you than low fat versions which contain God alone knows what chemicals to make them taste better because they do taste awful.

    1. Hi Rosemary. You could definitely make this with full fat mayonnaise if you prefer, but it would double the calories to 150 per 2 Tbsp serving.

      I steer clear of fat free mayonnaise. I agree with you that it tastes artificial. But light mayonnaise has practically the same ingredients as the full fat and I don’t mind saving the calories.
